Partnerships between parents/carers, students and schools promote student learning, wellbeing and high expectations for student success. To have a significant impact on student outcomes, communication needs to be focused on student learning and wellbeing.
Ways to support your teenager’s learning :
1. Keep up-to-date by reading information provided by
the school (e.g. newsletters, emails, social media) and
attending events whenever possible (e.g. information
evenings, parent/teacher interviews, P&C meetings).
2. Talk with your teenager about their goals and
aspirations and communicate high but realistic
expectations about their education and career.
3. Ask your child about their learning and school day. Ask
them what they enjoyed most about their school day or
the most interesting thing they learned. This shows your
child that you are interested in their learning and their
wellbeing.
4. Access local services including local community health
services, parenting programs and libraries that can
support your child’s learning and development.
Communication Methods:
Parents/carers may request a meeting time with class teachers via emailing the teacher directly or making contact with school administration.
Daily communication between home and school occurs via an RSS Communication Diary / email.
Preferred communication methods can be negotiated with class teachers.
Phone calls during school hours are limited due to teaching being underway.
